Smell Ya Later…Literally Article

Here’s just a taste of this amazing article

…As luck would have it, technology has an answer: Scientists in Japan have developed a machine that analyzes aromas through 15 sensor chips and reproduces the scent by mixing 96 different chemicals. The machine then vaporizes the mixture. Each of the 96 chemicals is contained in separate glass bottles, which makes the machine quite large – 3 feet by 2 feet. The machine is hardly portable, though a more compact version is available. This version only has the sensor chips, which digitally record the odor, and it must be hooked up to the chemical-filled version to experience the scent.

In December, another Japanese company (NTT Communications Corporation) developed a machine that synchronizes scents with movies called Smellovision. The in-theater version emits scents from machines located under the back rows, basing the scent on the mood of the scene. Now there’s a home version that costs just over $600. The in-house version allows users to download specialized programs to produce scents for different activities. But as Hans Greimel of the Associated Press says, “The NTT Project…was about reproducing smells rather than recording them as well

Love is in the air…..

I never thought of myself as a “floral” person.  I like flowers, they’re vibrant and beautiful to look at, but I’ve never buried my nose in a rose and said to myself….now that is something to behold…I need to smell like this all day!  So why now with the warmer weather, the bee buzzing, and the pollen blanketing my car, do I find myself drawn to all that is floral??  Suddenly, I cannot get enough of V Absolut!  Why, out of no where, do I pine for Daisy, or dream about Be Delicious Fresh Blossom?  Has the warmer weather germinated a new awakening in me?   Could the sun be baking my brain???  When did I become this person?  All I know is that I have to, want to, NEED TO find a fresh new floral fragrance to satiate this Floral fixation that I find myself in!!!!  Find your new fragrance, in Pure Perfume Oil, at www.thefragranceshop.com and let me know what new relationships you’ve cultivated.  I want juicy details!

Seasonal Scents???

Question of the hour…Are you a seasonal scent person, or do you stick to your tried and true?  A lot of people that I know have that signature “Identify you with a sniff” scent while others switch up their fragrances with the seasons.  While I think there is nothing wrong with the Signature Scent, I do believe there is something to be said with the Seasonal Scent as well as the Evening vs Daytime fragrance.  When the weather is cooler, most of us gravitate towards the warm, spicy, Oriental fragrances to compensate for the cooler temps and when the weather starts to heat up, Citruses and Clean scents are King (or Queen)!   This also applies to Daytime vs Evening.  When the sun is out, we want to smell like we just stepped out of the shower…but as soon as the sun sets, all bets are off and we enter the land of intrigue and mystery.  So, which is better?  The  “Signature” scent, or the “Keep ‘Em Guessing”  ?????  Let me know what you think!  I’ll be waiting to read your posts!
